Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Scotland. In this role, you will use your engineering knowledge and sales expertise to provide exceptional support and advice on our comprehensive range of cutting tools. Your main focus will be to drive growth by expanding our customer base and deepening relationships with existing clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Growth : Proactively meet and exceed sales targets by identifying new business opportunities and expanding market share.
  • Customer Engagement : Understand and manage customer requirements, confidently negotiating and closing sales.
  • Technical Support : Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance, including conducting presentations and demonstrations that showcase the benefits of our cutting tools.
  • Documentation & Reporting : Document cost-saving activities and maintain accurate records in our CRM system.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with our product team to develop custom solutions that meet specific customer needs.
  • Networking : Represent Tungaloy at trade shows, conferences, and marketing events to build new connections and strengthen our market reputation.


Candidate Profile

  • Experience : Proven success in selling metal cutting tools or a background as a multi-skilled engineer with strong knowledge in cutting tools.
  • Technical Skills : Ability to advise on optimal metal removal rates for various applications including milling, drilling, grooving, turning, and threading. Proficiency in reading engineering drawings is essential.
  • Qualifications : A mechanical engineering qualification or a technical apprenticeship is preferred.
  • Personal Attributes : Self-driven, disciplined, with excellent communication and negotiation skills. A winning mentality and the ability to work independently are crucial.
