As an experienced finance professional with a background in a busy accounts payable function, it is not every day you get the opportunity to save the planet. That is the role we can offer you as Accounts Payable Specialist with WWF UK.
As the world’s largest independent conservation organisation, we are working to make the continued destruction of nature politically, socially and economically unacceptable. To make sure we are successful it is essential we ensure that all expenditure is properly authorised and paid within required timescales. This is where your finance skills come in.
As Accounts Payable Specialist, you will review transactions raised on our procurement system to ensure they are correctly coded and are supported by relevant documentation. You will process invoices for suppliers as well as respond to internal and supplier queries. You will distribute invoices received to the relevant internal stakeholder to raise purchase orders in a timely manner and reconcile supplier statements too. You will also prepare payment runs, process foreign payments and help with credit card and expense approvals . In addition, you will enjoy the opportunity to develop your skills supporting other work of the Accounts payable Manager with some ad hoc tasks with new systems being implemented.
You will have experience gained within an Accounts Payable function using a purchase to pay system. Used to matching complex invoices to purchase orders, you will be familiar with reconciling supplier accounts. You will be a user of Excel too. Able to manage your own workload, you will also possess good communication and interpersonal skills as well as an eye for detail.
Experience of foreign currency payment processing and of using the Sun Accounting system would be an advantage.
