Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting for Facilities Engineering Project Manager to work for our client who operate in the Engineering services industry. Our client is a well-established and reputable business who operate nationally and have a number of blue chip clients.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing a variety of engineering projects related to facilities engineering, maintenance & improvements.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience working within industrial sector on food & bev facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Lead and manage all aspects of facilities engineering projects from initiation to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
* Engineering Expertise: Provide technical expertise and guidance in areas such as HVAC systems, electrical and mechanical systems, fire protection, and general site maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
* Contract Management: Oversee the selection, negotiation, and management of contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers for equipment, materials, and services required for project execution.
* Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and minimise disruptions to facility operations.
* Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that work meets established standards and specifications.
* Communication: Effectively communicate project status, updates, and issues to clients, including senior management and project teams
* Budget Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and provide regular financial reports to ensure projects are completed within approved budget constraints.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all projects adhere to relevant safety, environmental, and building code regulations, obtaining necessary permits and approvals as required.
* Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment to achieve project goals.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
* Recognised engineering qualifications.
* Proven experience in facilities engineering project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
* Strong knowledge of engineering principles and building systems
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
