Salary: £80 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an SEMH school in Solihull, assisting with their recruitment for an SEMH Teaching Assistant. The setting focuses on pupil development, with a strong emphasis on academic progress as well as emotional, social, and behavioral skills.
The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, with the potential to become a long-term placement for the right SEMH Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will bring a new dimension and skill set to the role, be eager to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs, and have a positive impact on the wider school community.
The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages who have been diagnosed with SEMH needs, Autism/ASD, and severe learning difficulties, as well as managing challenging behaviors. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs and/or disabilities
Experience managing challenging behaviors
Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent qualification
Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications are desirable
