The Role: We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team, providing 1:1 support for a Year 1 child with Autism and challenging behaviour. This role requires a patient and dedicated individual with a strong background in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 child with Autism and challenging behaviour, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
Assist the child with classroom activities, ensuring they are fully engaged and able to access the curriculum.
Use positive behaviour management techniques to support the child in developing social and communication skills.
Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher, SENCO, and parents.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and understanding.
Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with Autism and challenging behaviour is essential.
A solid understanding of SEN and the strategies to support children with additional needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
