Job Purpose
You must have:
- Level 2/3 – Health and Social care/Children and young people/ Youth Work Practice/ Residential Childcare
- A minimum of 6-12 months of experience working within a residential setting with children/young people with SEN/Complex needs/Challenging behaviour
Our client provides residential homes provide children and young people with a stable, secure and supportive environment, where they can develop their innate skills and confidence.
All of our care is person-centred and tailored to each individual.
As part of your rewarding role, you’ll work with children and young people with a range of complex needs and SEMH, as well as children with autism and Learning Disabilities.
To support service users with all aspects of their day to day living, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. Providing care and support offers many rewards, but can also be challenging. Compassion, good communication skills and a calm and caring manner are essential for this important role.
We would love to hear from you if you have worked with Children, have experience or exposure of seeking out positive outcomes for children and young people and have a positive, friendly, nurturing and patient demeanour.
The main responsibilities associated with this position are as follows:
· Ensure that all children and young people have their needs met, and their welfare is always promoted. Maintain standards of good practice always, establishing purposeful and constructive relationships and appropriate role modelling to assist with the development of each child’s life, activities, education, social skills and personal skills. Maintain and produce required records and reports as necessary to ensure smooth, efficient running of the home.
· Promote and encourage learning by the children and young people with any educational programmes provisions and educational activities.
· Participate on a shift basis by rota, demonstrating a level of commitment and flexibility, to enable the efficient running of the home. This includes weekdays, evenings, weekends and sleep in duties.
· Support service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids e.g. hoists, wheelchairs, modified bathing equipment
Knowledge and Understanding

· Food hygiene.
