**Full Job Description**

Hope Services is a Supported Living company, guided by our values and the quality of our service. We provide a unique combination of personalised care, support and housing solutions for young people 16 - 25 years old Care Leavers. We are currently looking for team members to join our growing team to deliver and support our young people and care leavers in a 24/7 Staffed Semi-independent home.

Hope Services is an independent run organisation dedicated to providing quality person-centred care to young people and care leavers aged 16 - 25 years old in Semi

As a Support Worker, you will promote independence, encourage and support service users in their day-to-day lives, enabling them to live more fulfilling lives, whilst helping provide high-quality person-centred care. This could include a range of tasks and activities such as personal care, domestic tasks and general activities that allow the individual to live their lives in the way they choose.

**Person Specification
- ESSENTIAL**

**Work Experience**:

- At least 1 year experience of working with young people and adolescents (required)
- Working individually and within a team
- Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 Children and Young Peoples workforce (preferred)
- Understanding of the full range of issues facing children, young people and/ or families including:

- Family functioning
- Domestic violence
- Substance misuse
- Housing issues
- Unemployment
- Mental health issues
- Physical health issues
- Emotional well being
- ASB/ crime issues

**Qualifications**
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
- Be committed to completing QCF /NVQ Level 3 award in Health & Social Care (Children) within the set time frame. This is a statutory requirement for all employees wishing to work in childcare.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage a young person living semi-independently in the community; you will be responsible in structuring daily routines consistent with an independent placement agreement.
- Monitor the young person’s ability to engage with everyday living and develop skills where necessary by supporting their identified needs.
- Support the young person in settling within the community and accessing local resources.
- Support and assist the young person around budgeting money, grocery shopping and administer a weekly subsistence allowance.
- Encourage the young person to engage and take part with positive activities within the community, building on relationships and developing social networks.
- Maintain accurate record/ log keeping.
- Maintain petty cash and receipts for each expenditure.
- To maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the accommodation, leading by example and encouraging our young people to do the same.
- Work with your line manager and the young person to develop a structured programme and support plan based upon the young person’s individual support needs and focused on developing their self confidence and esteem.
- Promote safe, consistent and understandable boundaries with the young person in conjunction with a 'Young Person’s Agreement’.
- Encourage the young person to take an active part in the local community, building relationships and maintaining social networks.
- Prepare high standard monthly progress reports regarding the young person’s progress which are submitted to the placing authority.
- Complete required paperwork/ administration and key work sessions as directed.
