Sterile Services Technical and Quality Manager

The Sterile Services Department is responsible for the full decontamination and sterilization of medical devices and the disinfection of endoscopes and other non-invasive products. They are a quality registered organisation with the following Quality accreditations, ISO 13485 and UKCA Annex 5, Part 2 Regulation 14.
Key responsibilities will include:
Responsible for coordinating the training programmes for all decontamination personnel employed within Sterile Services and for managing the paper work and data bases associated with the Quality Systems and decontamination equipment for Sterile Services;
Play a key role in enabling the efficient and effective day to day training, compliance and quality assurance requirements of the department ensuring that the highest quality of service is delivered;
Work to implement the Trust and local policy into local working practices to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and good practice guidelines at all times;
To assist the senior management team in managing and maintaining the departments ISO 13485 Quality Management System (QMS) and UKCA Regulations ensuring all associated paperwork is maintained and current;
Set up and develop databases to support an electronic QMS and to provide analytical reports on the data produced;
Assist in the delivery of customer reports based on activity and financial information as directed by the senior management team;
Responsible for the technical aspects and details of the decontamination equipment and associated plant;
To support the senior management team in providing effective and efficient leadership for the service, assisting with the introduction of change within the service;
To directly deliver or facilitate the delivery of training programmes for SSD personnel within the Trust, ensuring training files are maintained and assisting to develop and maintain an electronic data base;
The ideal candidate will have:
Educated to Master’s degree level or equivalent acquired through training and experience;
NVQ Decontamination Advisor A1 NVQ Assessor;
Knowledge of decontamination processes and ISO and equivalent standards relevant to a decontamination facility;
Full or Part member of Institute of Decontamination Sciences (IDSc), Member of the Central Sterilising Club (CSC) and Auditor Certificate ISO9001:2000;
3 years’ experience of working within Sterile Services department(s) and supervising staff and working with a Quality Management System.
