As a Criminal Justice Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals involved in the criminal justice system, empowering them to make positive life choices and reduce their risk of reoffending. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver a range of interventions and support services aimed at addressing criminogenic needs and promoting desistance from crime.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify individual strengths, needs, and risks related to offending behaviour.
* Developing and implementing personalized intervention plans in collaboration with service users, focusing on rehabilitation, reintegration, and risk reduction.
* Providing one-to-one support, mentoring, and advocacy to help individuals address underlying issues such as substance misuse, housing instability, employment barriers, and social exclusion.
* Facilitating group programs, workshops, and educational sessions covering topics such as anger management, conflict resolution, and life skills development.
* Liaising with criminal justice agencies, probation services, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate support and ensure continuity of care for service users.
* Monitoring compliance with court orders, license conditions, and other legal requirements, and providing regular progress reports to the appropriate authorities.
* Engaging with service users' families, support networks, and communities to promote positive relationships and social support networks.
* Maintaining accurate records, case files, and data management systems in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in criminal justice settings, probation services, or related roles, preferably with individuals at risk of offending or with a history of involvement in the criminal justice system.
* Strong understanding of criminological theories, risk assessment tools, and evidence-based interventions in the context of offender management.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach to working with individuals who have committed offenses.
* Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures governing the criminal justice system in the UK.
* Commitment to upholding professional ethics, confidentiality, and safeguarding principles in all aspects of practice.
