Our client is a locally based, well established charity that works with individuals and families to provide support, guidance and education to those affected by ABI. As a charity founded by a brain injury survivor, they have a real understanding of the daily, lifelong challenges faced during recovery.  
As a coordinator and deliverer of services to their service users and their families, this is a special project funded for 12 months, initially at 30 hours a week, but the expectation is that it will continue after that. There is a good deal of time flexibility but also certain commitment to various specific events and session times.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience of working within the healthcare or social care industry, and have an exceptionally caring, empathetic and understanding nature. They will have experience of organising and facilitating group and 121 sessions, and have the ability to liaise with outside agencies and other professionals, including delivering presentations.
Knowledge, skills and abilities needed:
Knowledge of data protection principles and information governance
Ability to liaise with outside agencies and other professionals including delivering presentations as appropriate 
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Ability to work as part of a team
Awareness of professional boundaries
Computer literate, with the ability to record data on various platforms and use this information to compile reports etc. to meet monitoring requirements
Ability to work on own initiative and the ability to keep calm under pressure
Employ an empathic non-judgemental attitude toward service users
Full UK Driving licence
Experience needed:
Experience of working with people who have additional support needs along with their family members 
Experience of organising and delivering both group and 1:1 support, guidance, education sessions
Experience of devising, delivering, and monitoring health-related personalised support plans
Desirable but not essential:
Experience of supporting people affected by ABI 
A good understanding of ABI
Duties & Responsibilities:
To organise, facilitate and deliver a range of support interventions for family members of people affected by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) both in groups and 1:1.

To respond to telephone and drop-in queries offering advice, information, and support. Dealing with queries associated with service users’ personal development, care, and wider health needs. 
To develop effective working relationships with appropriate external agencies and professionals.  
To raise awareness of the charity by delivering presentations/talks to external agencies and organisations as appropriate. 
To devise, support and monitor service user Personalised Support Plans in line with charity processes and procedures. 
Salary and benefits package:
£11.50 to £13.50 subject to experience 
30 hours a week
Initially this is a funded 12-month fixed-term contract, however, it is the intention to continue after this
