Our client, a reputable City Council, in the field of Museums, Theatres & Culture, is currently seeking a Facilities Manager for a temporary position based in Chelmsford. As our client's Museum Operations Manager transitions to a new role, they require an experienced professional to oversee the facilities management operations and ensure the smooth running of the museum.
Responsibilities:
Manage health and safety policies and procedures to guarantee the security and safety of staff, visitors, and guests.
Oversee the museum as a whole, including buildings, infrastructure, equipment, and overall condition.
Collaborate with the curatorial team to maintain the highest standards of collection management.
Conduct risk assessments within the museum, encompassing buildings, equipment, and events.
Oversee the Operations Team, ensuring efficient rota management to meet operational requirements.
Act as a key holder for the venue and be available at short notice in case of any security or operational issues.
Work with existing staff on the retail management to ensure an appealing offering for our diverse audience.
Requirements:
Proven experience in delivering a first-class visitor/ client experience in a similar role.
Comprehensive knowledge of building maintenance legislation, including legionella, COSHH, etc.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations and protocols.
First aid and fire marshal training and experience.
Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Packages, Office 365, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
The successful candidate will be offered an hourly rate starting from £19.64 for the duration of the 4-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a well-established organisation within the diverse cultural landscape of the Borough.
