The business operates across multiple sectors including retail, commercial, and leisure, offering full end-to-end services from design and installation through to maintenance. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Estimator or Senior Mechanical Estimator to join the companys growing M&E Division based in the West Yorkshire area. You will play a key part in helping the business secure new projects by producing accurate and competitive tenders, ensuring all bids are commercially robust and aligned with business objectives. You will be involved in mechanical projects valued between £1 million and £4 million. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, typically three days in the office and two days from home, providing flexibility while remaining closely connected with the wider commercial and operational teams. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed project cost estimates, material take-offs, and cost plans based on drawings and specifications. Obtain and evaluate quotations from specialist subcontractors and suppliers. Benchmark rates and apply appropriate contingencies to account for project risk and complexity. Participate in tender launches, reviews, and adjudication meetings. Support the commercial and operations teams in bid analysis and contract negotiations. Produce accurate and comprehensive handovers to the project delivery team for successful tenders. Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and supply chain partners. Skills & Experience You will need to be an experienced Mechanical Estimator or Senior Mechanical Estimator working within the building services industry. Sound technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and associated building services, along with strong understanding of specifications and materials. Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, and contract documents. Experience within the retail fit-out sector is advantageous but not essential. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. Excellent communication and time-management skills. Proficient in Word, Excel, and estimating software packages. Remuneration Package Mechanical Estimator / Senior Mechanical Estimator £60,000 £70,000 base salary (reflective of experience and seniority) plus £5,000 car allowance and excellent benefits package.
