Senior Safeguarding Officer
Location: Swindon
Type: Full time
Reporting to: Head of Safeguarding
Salary: £32kDovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Swindon.
Role Purpose
targeted interventions to address day-to-day or long-term challenges.
Act as a senior member of the safeguarding team, overseeing safeguarding referrals, deputizing for the Head of Safeguarding, and supervising Safeguarding Coordinators.
Responsibilities
Provide pastoral support to students, addressing issues such as anxiety, behavior, mental health, and safeguarding concerns.
Act as a senior member of the Safeguarding Team, handling safeguarding referrals and liaising with external agencies.
Maintain accurate records of student support activities and safeguarding actions in systems.
Serve as a primary contact for staff with concerns about students, offering advice and guidance on appropriate interventions.
Support looked-after children and young carers by ensuring they receive appropriate care and attention.
Supervise and support Safeguarding Coordinators, managing workloads, priorities, and ensuring cases are properly closed.
Requirements
Experience of working in a Safeguarding/Child Protection role
At least 3 years working in a related fields
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with vulnerable people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
