Celtic Bakers Ltd is London’s leading craft bakery- supplying the best hand-crafted breads and pastries across a wonderful array of customers in foodservice, retail, and private label. We have a team of 150 people- working in a new, purpose-built bakery in Tottenham, north London. We are exceptionally proud of our working environment, and our bakery is loved by colleagues and customers alike.

Perhaps rather obviously, we are a business of “foodies;” as part of the Shipton Mill group, we are passionate about organic food- and a love of organic is at the heart of everything we do. The provenance of our ingredients matters to us, and we pride ourselves on having forged relationships with several suppliers over the years who share our values and our ethos.

We also take the environment, and food waste, very seriously. 100% of our food waste is either donated to local community projects, or recycled.

Finally, Celtic Bakers is proud to partner the Breadwinners charity, providing support to refugees through the provision of training and jobs in London and beyond.

The Role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to grow and develop the Foodservice/OOH channel at The Celtic Bakers. The candidate must be passionate about the food scene in London, and able to identify, build and maintain a customer base to include exciting and dynamic restaurant and café chains, and hotels. This requires them to have their finger on the pulse of all the latest happenings such as street feasts, restaurant openings, festivals, and new chefs - and to keep on top of it. They must be able to react quickly to opportunities arising, which will require self-motivation and an ability to not only identify, but also follow up and action opportunities to bring them to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving sales growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior management, including NPD, operations, technical and supply chain, to deliver exceptional service to all accounts.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify opportunities for growth and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing structures to achieve profitable business outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyse sales data, promotional activities, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and retail landscape changes to adapt strategies and capitalise on emerging opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in Business Development, Sales or Account Manager in the FMCG industry, preferably in a similar, disruptor food brand, with a track record of managing key accounts and driving business growth.
  • Familiarity with the retail, foodservice, pub groups and catering sector is essential
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Salary

£35,000k – £40,000k plus bonus (up to £10k)
