A leading nuclear and defence sector consultancy is looking for a senior mechanical designer to join a globally known project on an contract basis.
Job Role - Senior Mechanical Designer
Location - Remote/Hybrid
Contract Length - 12 Months
Pay Rate - Up to £45hour (Inside IR35)
This is a great opportunity for a qualified and experienced senior mechanical designer to join the team at a crucial point in a fantastic, massive project and work with some of the best names in the industry to deliver engineering designs and solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead engineering resource in the delivery of one or more technical design packages.
Delivery of engineering solutions for large-scale packages of work.
Undertake Design following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
Production of all technical deliverables
Preparation of briefs, scopes of work, and develop fee/bid proposals.
Management of internal design resource in producing elements of the design.
Review and verification of design practices and technical solutions as part of a wider team.
Attendance at internal and external co-ordination, progress, and design review meetings.
Requirements:
Nuclear, defence or MOD design experience preferred.
Appropriate qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency using technical software, drawing and calculation packages.
Achieved or working towards professional registration (CEng, MCIBSE, or equivalent qualification).
