About the Opportunity

AXIOM is one of the DSA alliance partners and is an unincorporated Joint Venture (JV) made up of three major engineering contracting companies each with complementary capabilities and skills. The members have excellent nuclear pedigrees, demonstrated expertise and effective track records across the UK nuclear fleet and related nuclear industries. 

AXIOM provides process, mechanical, civil structural and architectural, electrical, instrumentation, control and safety capabilities to support Sellafield Ltd. 

As well as having a large, dedicated team working for Sellafield Ltd, each has immense reach-back capability into parent organisations for knowledge, expertise and innovations gained from within, and external to, the nuclear industry. Examples of other markets include Oil and Gas, Environment, Mining and Aerospace.

The extensive capacity and capabilities of the AXIOM alliance provide the essential expertise that is crucial to achieving both the designs of the alliance and the wider goals of Sellafield Ltd and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).

Senior Mechanical Designer will be required to support the design through manufacture, testing and execution phases of the project. The Senior Mechanical Designer will be responsible for the;

Production of design schedules for pipes, valves and equipment Production of CDM documentation i.e. Designer Risk Assessments, Installation Method Statements Production of pipework and equipment layouts/ Fabrication Isometrics and steel fabrications detail drawings using Auto Cad R17 / 18 Checking of Mechanical design deliverables Compilation of technical files for Pressure Equipment and Machinery directives 

Here's What You'll Need:

Experience with designing in accordance with Pressure Equipment and Machinery Directives and Pressure System Safety Regulations Experience in the Design of pipework and pipe supports in accordance with international piping specifications standards and procedures (ASME B31.3) Conversant with relevant drawing and document standards such as BS8888
