Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a SCL Section Engineer to join our our Cross passages team on the Long Itchington Wood tunnelling team. Role Purpose: To provide management and control of a section of works and team comprising Site Engineers management of sub contractors focusing on SCL and Concrete activities for the construction of Tunnels cross passages.
What you'll be doing:
Liaise with designer to resolve technical issues
Understands cost and value
Drafts correspondence to sub-contractors, suppliers and Client
Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity, including managing others in this regard
Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
Excellent team player, able to work competently and independently without continuous supervisionWho we're looking for:
Civil Engineering experience in SCL and Tunnels
Holds a valid CSCS
Has a UK driving licence

Section Engineer -Precast Viaduct Segments (PSV)

Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Section Engineer- PSV within the design & engineering function.
This role will be based on site in Water Orton.
As a Section Engineer you will manage a team of engineers and have responsibility for a section of works including RC Piers, viaducts, foundations, retaining walls and river diversions
Experienced required
Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering.
Site experience in Civil Engineering and in particular large RC structures 
Experience managing a team 
Have experience of working with Permit System and actively raises permits to work. Have basic environmental awareness. Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role.

About Balfour Beatty VINCI
