An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team on a landmark project on the Piccadilly Line Upgrade (PLU) Programme.
A leading player in the transport infrastructure sector, committed to delivering innovative solutions across the UK. Their expertise spans a wide range of infrastructure projects, ensuring enhanced efficiency, safety, and performance.
About the Project:
You would be joining the constructing of a state-of-the-art Wheel Lathe facility, an essential part of the Piccadilly Line Upgrade (PLU) Programme. This cutting-edge infrastructure will serve as a dedicated centre for servicing the newly arriving Piccadilly line rolling stock, enhancing efficiency in train maintenance and ensuring optimal performance and safety for London’s passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Project Manager in all aspects of project delivery, ensuring objectives are met on time and within budget
* Coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and clients, to ensure smooth project execution
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
* Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues, proactively addressing challenges to keep the project on track
* Support the procurement process by managing subcontractor and supplier relationships
* Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned
Requirements:
* Proven experience in project management or site management within the transport infrastructure sector
* Familiarity with Tier 1 level paperwork and processes
* Previous experience with LU (London Underground) or Network Rail projects is highly desirable but not a must
* Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Proficiency in project management software and tools
* Relevant qualifications in project management or a related field
