Our client, a reputable London Borough Council, is seeking a Principal Planning Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Development Management sector and contribute to the planning and development of the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of complex planning applications
Provide professional advice and guidance on planning matters
Assess applications for compliance with planning policies and regulations
Conduct site visits and attend meetings with stakeholders
Prepare detailed reports and make recommendations to the planning committee
Assist in the development and implementation of planning policies
Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies on planning projects
Stay current with industry trends and changes in planning legislation
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in Development Management
Excellent knowledge of planning legislation and policies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively manage a caseload of complex planning applications
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and strong report writing abilities
Proficient in using planning-related software and technology
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
