As an SEMH Teaching Assistant Primary, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work within a primary school setting and make a real impact on students’ educational journeys.
Responsibilities as a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant ( Primary):
Support the learning and development of pupils with SEMH needs in a primary school setting.
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.
Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students with their academic and personal growth.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages students to thrive.
Monitor and report on pupil progress to the class teacher and other relevant staff members.
Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies to ensure a calm learning environment.
As a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant ( Primary) essential requirements include the following:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their educational and emotional needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately
