Our client is seeking an experienced Estate Surveyor to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves managing an extensive portfolio of commercial and corporate properties with an estimated capital book value of £660 million. The Estate Surveyor will support the Council by delivering professional estate management for their corporate/commercial portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a case load including rent reviews, lease negotiations, and general estate management tasks
Undertaking site visits to ensure compliance with lease terms and resolve disputes
Keeping business rate information current and supporting utility and energy data reviews
Providing technical advice on landlord and tenant matters, monitoring payments, and assisting with payment solutions or recovery
Continuing professional development by staying updated on case law and applying knowledge to estate management
Assisting with the annual asset valuation programme and supporting site visits
Preparing sites for agency, liaising with external valuers, and appointing advisors when required
Supporting Trainee Estate Surveyors with their professional development and qualifications
Contributing to the Council's Carbon Neutral 2030 target by identifying and supporting the improvement of assets
Collaborating with internal teams and external consultants, ensuring compliance with all regulatory processes
Job Requirements:
Experience in estate management
Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant laws and technical expertise
Proficiency in property contract negotiations and completion processes
Ability to undertake site visits and provide detailed reports and measurements
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements
Commitment to professional development and training
