To act as a Client Director supporting a varied range of public sector clients. The position will involve taking responsibility for an existing book of business and contribute towards winning new clients. The candidate will be expected to manage their portfolio of clients, providing a quality service meeting client demands and needs in order to achieve optimum profitable renewal retention rate and account growth.

• Manage client/prospect relationships and grow the book/existing accounts, providing the most appropriate insurance and risk management solutions
• Ensure client information and sales plans are kept up to date
• Establish and manage a sales pipeline of potential clients
• Proactively seek out commercial opportunities and partnerships
• Promote and sell additional insurance products and services to clients
• Work closely with Account Handlers and Brokers to negotiate terms and conditions of placements
• Deal with internal and external queries from colleagues or underwriters
• Assist with new business report writing
• Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business.

• Cert CII/ Dip CII/ Advanced Dip CII (Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications) desirable
• Experience working with public sector clients is desirable but not essential
• Good knowledge of the general insurance market, products and services
• Previous demonstrable experience in an Account Executive or Broker role
• Comfortable working to targets
• Proven rapport-building experience with internal/external stakeholders
• Able to identify potential problems and seek advice/consultation when required
• Robust knowledge of client market and insurance industry network
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Authentic communication skills for varying audience
• Excellent planning and analytical skills
• Self-motivated and motivates others to achieve
• Continually builds and sustains a network managing relationships
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Ability to travel to client sites
