The role will initially be Hybrid with a scope to move full time site based in 2025. The Civils Supervisor is responsible for the civils aspect of the project with a focus on HDD. You will supervise and coordinate the on-site HDD Civil works activities by internal and subcontracted resources related to the assigned scope and discipline, to assure cost-effective execution of deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements
Please note this has been assessed as inside IR35 (PAYE or Umbrella only)
Responsible for all activities on cable route, for example survey, enabling works (access points, fencing, sopil stripping, haul road construction and pre-con drainage installation),HDD, trench and joint bay excavations, cable laying, jointing and backfilling and where appropriate test depending on the given delegation.
Supports in the planning and follow up of the HDD civil works activities related to the assigned scope and disciplines, including necessary local resources, equipment, suppliers, and milestones. Participates in the coordination between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy.
Responsible for coordinating all on-site HDD civil works activities related to the assigned scope and disciplines, to ensure their successful execution of start-up, construction, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications and requirements, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
Participates in site meetings related to the assigned scope and disciplines, and whenever required, with Customer, sub-contractors, and site personnel in relation to Civils and HD
Serves as a project representative, within the assigned scope and disciplines, by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations.
Supports the Site Manager in making detailed working plans with the Sub-Contractors of the assigned scope and disciplines. Ensures the required quality for the respective works according to the standards and specifications
Ensures that the Site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Plan is followed and provides input for its update when required. Is continuously working with hazardous, risk assessment and control
Ensures that the Site Quality Plan is followed and documented. Together with the Sub-Contractor, monitors and inspects the HDD civil works activities related to the assigned scope and disciplines, ensuring that it’s up to the specified requirements for the project
Ensures correct handling, storage and installation of delivered equipment related to the assigned scope and disciplines (HDD), according to the manufacturer’s guidelines, including coordination of on-site storage.
Ensures all documentation related to the assigned scope and disciplines is revised and updated as necessary, the document handling system is continuously maintained, and latest revisions are used for
the construction work on site
Essential Criteria
Experience as a civils supervisor within large infrastructure projects
HDD experience (essential)
Recognised supervisory certifications (SSSTS,SMSTS etc)
HSE awareness
Experience in Civil Works, Installation and/or Commissioning activities
