The role will cover various sites mainly Central/Southern Scotland - applicants must have full UK Drivers Licence.
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the health and safety of our client's employees and contractors. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, implementing safety procedures, and providing advice and guidance on health and safety matters. In addition, you will be involved in investigating accidents and incidents, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions to prevent future occurrences.
To be successful in this role, you should have a solid background in health and safety, preferably within the energy industry, experience of supporting teams who work on OHL/Pylons and substations is highly desirable.
You should have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, and be able to apply your knowledge effectively to identify and mitigate risks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with employees at all levels of the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
* Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
* Provide advice and guidance on health and safety matters to employees and contractors.
* Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
* Monitor and review health and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement.
* Deliver training and awareness programmes to promote a strong safety culture.
* Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practises in health and safety.
Requirements:
* Experience in health and safety, engineering, construction, utilities or similar industry.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
