Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compensation & Benefits Advisor to join our HR function. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, development, and continuous improvement of our employee benefits programmes, with a strong focus on NEST pensions , flexible benefits , and private medical insurance . This is a key role within the HR team, ensuring the effective delivery of compensation and benefits services across the organisation while maintaining compliance with all relevant UK legislation. Please note: A current qualification from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) is an absolute requirement for this role. Key Responsibilities: Administer and develop the company’s NEST pension scheme , including enrolment, employee communications, and compliance with auto-enrolment regulations. Manage and enhance flexible benefits programmes , ensuring offerings remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with employee needs. Administer private medical insurance including new joiners, leavers, renewals, and ongoing scheme communications. Act as a key liaison between the company and external benefits providers, brokers, and pension administrators. Support the delivery of the annual benefits review cycle, including renewals, communications, and benefit improvements. Ensure accuracy in payroll processing of benefit deductions, working closely with the payroll team and finance where necessary. Provide first-line advice and guidance to employees regarding benefit entitlements, queries, and claims. Maintain accurate employee records in line with data protection and GDPR requirements. Monitor legislative changes affecting payroll and benefits, ensuring the company remains compliant. Prepare data reports and analytics on benefit uptake and trends for internal review and planning. Essential Criteria: Minimum 3 years' experience in a compensation, benefits, or payroll-related role. Proven experience in administering and developing: NEST pensions Flexible benefits schemes Private medical insurance Fully qualified with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) . Strong working knowledge of UK employment, pension, and benefits legislation. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with high attention to detail. Ability to manage external vendors and third-party benefit providers effectively. Strong IT skills, including Excel and HRIS/payroll systems. Desirable: Experience working within a medium or large multi-site organisation. Experience supporting or leading benefit renewals or scheme transitions. Working knowledge of employee engagement tools or platforms related to benefits.
