Ground Control’s Professional Services department has a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated and commercially minded Senior orPrincipal Ecologist for our in-house Ecology Consultancy.
We’re looking for a someone at Senior level or abovewho wants to expand their current skill set and project management skills in this role.Be part of our forward thinking, environmentally focused business who have recently won the Pro Landscaper business award for the most Sustainable Company of the year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management of UK Habitat Classification Surveys, (licenced) protected species surveys;
- Building tenders and creating complex fee quotations at speed;
- Producing complex technical reports (PEA reports, BNG reports, protected species reports, Habitat Management Plans, BREEAM reports, HRAs and EcIAs);
- Managing medium to large sized projects with ability to track financial progress;
- Line management of junior ecologists
- Logistical and legislative problem solving
Fully flexible working
This role is a fully remote position, working from home and in the field in your local area. You have the flexibility of managing your own time without having to visit a office location.
Are You Right For This Role?
We welcome applications from Senior Ecologists or existing Principals who are looking for a change. You must have full membership the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management - MCIEEM, a relevant bachelor’s degree (or higher) and at least one protected species licence. A Personal Track Safety accreditation would be a bonus.
In addition all of the points below will be a massive bonus
- Have a desire for line management
- Prioritise workloads and complete tasks in a timely manner;
- Have high attention to detail, especially in technical reporting;
- A strength UK wildlife legislation and understand how to apply it correctly;
- Have clear and consistent communication skills;
- Be personable and a team player, even on tough days; and
- Hold a full UK driving license
