Position: Repairs and Maintenance Operative
Location: Plymouth
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm)
Salary: £29,960 per annum, increasing to £33,671 after probation, plus a company vehicle or £4,000 vehicle allowance annually
Role Overview
Our well established client who provide housing services is seeking a skilled Repairs and Maintenance Operative to join their team. Reporting to the Team Leader - Repairs and Maintenance, you'll be responsible for both responsive and planned maintenance across our properties. This role requires working from home and travelling daily to various properties where service users reside.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance: Conduct a range of plumbing, carpentry, plastering, painting, decorating, and groundwork tasks in both occupied and vacant properties.
Plumbing: Execute various plumbing repairs and minor installations.
Carpentry: Perform repairs and installations, including work on windows, doors, UPVC components, and internal doors. Handle joinery tasks such as fitting architraves, skirting, kitchen units, and repairing double-glazed units.
Plastering: Carry out patch plastering as needed.
Painting & Decorating: Prepare surfaces, remove old finishes, repair walls and woodwork, and apply new decorative products.
Groundwork: Undertake repairs and renewals in fencing, clearance, and related areas.
Collaboration: Work closely with team members and management, attend meetings, provide training, and offer support as required.Skills and Attributes
Communication: Stay up-to-date with all communications and maintain accurate records as per company policies.
Development: Monitor your work progress, engage in training programs, and pursue professional development as outlined in your Personal Development Plan.
Data Security: Ensure all personal data handled is kept secure and confidential.
