What you'll be doing
Required to be flexible according to business requirements. The daily focus may vary however, it is expected that activities will typically include the following:
- Ensure the day-to-day food service is delivered in line with contractual need to include any dining activity, bar service, cleaning services
- Supervise the delivery of hospitality bookings daily ensuring that they meet the sponsor/ customers' needs and are presented in the best light
- Ensure all team members are coached, mentored and trained to undertake their daily tasks to meet the business need
- Ensure effective management of consumables and sundries associated with delivery and undertake regular and accurate stock checks as required
- Place orders to support the delivery using the correct and approved suppliers
- Maximise the use of tools provided for costs and sales management e.g., Aratrade, GFF, Opx, Kronos
- Act up in the absence of the Mess Services Manager to support weekly financial reports and payroll as necessary
- Take bookings and payments for purchases of food, beverage and any associated consumables as directed and following cash sales handling procedures to ensure security of payments.
- Ensure teams carry out stock rotation and assist with stock checks as required
- Ensure daily cleaning standards of all service areas utilising health checks and assurance tools
- Preparation of any other public facing areas as required including set up for hospitality events
- Support and on occasions lead the delivery of evening hospitality events covering various styles and themes
- Report to line manager any stock needs, breakages, faults or hazards identified during the course of the working day
- Ensure teams follow food hygiene and safety procedures in line with health and safety requirements
- Carry out regular team briefs and safety briefs as required
- Undertake relevant training as required of all aspects of the role including classroom and eLearning based
Experience
- A DBS check will be required to complete your application
- Some previous supervisory experience desirable in a food services or retail environment. Full training will be given for this multi-service role.
