Position: Childcare Advocate
Location: London Borough of Lambeth
Duration: 3-6+ months
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide Expert Legal Advice: Assist the Principal Social Care Lawyer in delivering high-quality, cost-effective legal advice and representation. Help the Council achieve its objectives and policies within its legal framework.
* In-House Advocacy: Act as the in-house advocate for all Social Services matters, including all aspects of public law proceedings.
* High-Level Legal Support: Offer proactive advice and assistance in Social Services law to ensure effective legal support for the Council.
* Project Support: Contribute to an in-house project aimed at reducing expenditure on external Counsel.
* Training Leadership: Lead the Council’s in-house training scheme for pupil barristers and trainee solicitors, supporting their development and integration into the team.
