Think Recruitment are working with a contractor who specialise in commercial fit out projects, to assist in the recruitment of a a Senior Estimator for their office in Sheffield.
Work will involve travelling to prospective clients to gather details to submit an accurate estimate of costs for the clients commercial fit out needs.
Duties
Ensure that all estimating processes and procedures are followed to deliver a submission following tender settlement
Work within established commercial and operations team in preparation of competitive tender offers
Undertake site visits to establish and verify asset information provided as part of the tender documentation
Undertake a full analysis of tender returns received during the tender process
Attend start-up pre-price and price meetings
Project locations across the UK
A sound knowledge and understanding of JCT contracts, and demonstrable experience of running interior fit out works contracts is preferable
Typically, the role will involve the management of multiple contracts concurrently, so the ability to manage time efficiently is critical
Previous experience of working on constructions contracts is useful, though not essential
Ability to review contracts, contract ammendments, and identify risks to the business is useful
methodical and well organised approach to financial management of the project (s)
Internal handover with sales and operation
Procurement of subcontract packages - LPM / Labour only / materials supply
The Person
Proven record in commercial fit-out contracts
Wider knowledge of the fit-out and construction industry
Used to site visits and client facing activity
Excellent analytical skills are essential, as are numeracy, literacy and communication skills in English
Computer literacy in MS Office, estimating software, etc
