Ground Control’s Professional Services department has a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated and commercially minded Senior or Principal Ecologist for our in-house Ecology Consultancy.
We’re looking for a someone at Senior level or above who wants to expand their current skill set and project management skills in this role. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management of UK Habitat Classification Surveys, (licenced) protected species surveys;
- Building tenders and creating complex fee quotations at speed;
- Producing complex technical reports (PEA reports, BNG reports, protected species reports, Habitat Management Plans, BREEAM reports, HRAs and EcIAs);
- Managing medium to large sized projects with ability to track financial progress;
- Line management of junior ecologists
- Logistical and legislative problem solving
Fully flexible working
This role is a fully remote position, working from home and in the field in your local area. You have the flexibility of managing your own time without having to visit a office location.
Are You Right For This Role?
We welcome applications from Senior Ecologists or existing Principals who are looking for a change. You must have full membership the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management - MCIEEM, a relevant bachelor’s degree (or higher) and at least one protected species licence. A Personal Track Safety accreditation would be a bonus.
In addition all of the points below will be a massive bonus
- Have a desire for line management
- Prioritise workloads and complete tasks in a timely manner;
- Have high attention to detail, especially in technical reporting;
- A strength UK wildlife legislation and understand how to apply it correctly;
- Have clear and consistent communication skills;
- Be personable and a team player, even on tough days; and
- Hold a full UK driving license
