Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record in overseeing new build school projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working for a tier one contractor, demonstrating proficiency in managing all aspects of the construction process from inception to completion. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction management principles. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle for new build school projects, including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, and handover.
Develop and implement project management plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to client requirements, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards.
Oversee subcontractor selection, negotiation, and management, ensuring efficient coordination and performance throughout the construction phase.
Provide strong leadership to project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment while effectively managing resources and resolving conflicts.
Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective measures to ensure project objectives are achieved.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders, maintaining effective communication channels and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage change orders, variations, and contractual claims, ensuring timely resolution and cost control to protect project profitability.
Implement robust health and safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety awareness and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and company policies.
Prepare comprehensive project reports and presentations for senior management, providing clear insights into project performance, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lessons learned from past projects to enhance processes, efficiency, and overall project delivery excellence.Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager overseeing new build school projects for a tier one contractor.
Strong knowledge of construction management principles, techniques, and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and deliver results under pressure.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Relevant certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent (preferred).
Knowledge of building regulations, planning processes, and health and safety legislation.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry trends and innovations
