Our client, a major UK bank , provides banking services to over 17 million customers . The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking .
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for an Algo Validator for an initial contract length that runs to the end of 2024 on a hybrid basis. You would be in the London office just 1-2 timer per week.
Purpose of the Role:
This role is within the Electronic Trading Risk and Control Management Team, a global Front Office team within the COO division. The team are responsible for ensuring that electronic and algorithmic trading is well governed and well controlled whilst working with the business heads to enable growth and innovation.
Reporting to the Director of Algorithmic Trading Risk Management, you will have full ownership of your body of work in analysing trading algorithms to identify risks against the existing internal templates and standards that they have.
Responsibilities of the role:
As an Algo Validator you will be responsible for:
- Provide independent advice and challenge as part of the algorithm design, development and release process.
- Conduct reviews of algorithms, assessing risk management and control effectiveness to ensure algos operate in accordance with the client's algorithmic trading policy.
- Conduct reviews of automated controls to improve risk management.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, especially in the Front Office.
- Define remediation action plans and identify risk exceptions.
What we require from the candidate:
- Quantitative analysis experience, applied in a financial markets setting.
- Direct experience in electronic and algorithmic trading.
- Firm practical understanding of Fixed Income and currencies markets.
- Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in this business area (especially MiFID II and SS5/18).
- Broad risk management understanding across both trading and operational risk.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with trading, technology and risk functions.
- Collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Software development background or experience with algorithm coding (desirable).
