About our Activity Worker role:
You will support adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities who may also have Autism and/or behaviour that challenges to participate in their chosen activities, either 1-1 or within a group, at a community venue, in their home or in the wider community.
You must be committed to enabling people with learning disabilities and/or Autism to be “Active Citizens” within Haringey and throughout London. This includes accessing lifelong learning, positive relationships, good health, fun and employment where appropriate.
Applicants need to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of empowerment and choice to individuals in order to support their independence.
Skills and experience of our ideal Activity Worker include:
A sensitive, caring and patient nature

Demonstrable skills in a variety of music, crafts, arts, nature, sport, therapies or technology and the enthusiasm to share your interests

An understanding of different communication styles

A flexible approach

A willingness to develop your skills in care and communication

A team player

Effective communication skills in written and spoken English
