Senior Quantity Surveyor - MEP Contractor - London
 
A leading MEP Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) to manage two prestigious residential schemes in Central London with a combined value of £60m. Procurement for both projects begins in September.
 
This is a standout opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in MEP Shell & Core and Fit-Out to advance their career with one of the UK’s largest M&E contractors, specialising in Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health systems for large-scale residential projects.
 
The Senior Quantity Surveyor’s Responsibilities:
Feasibility Management: Lead feasibility studies to estimate costs and engage the team to ensure optimal solutions from project launch.
Commercial Leadership: Act as the primary contact for the project's commercial needs, proposing cost-effective solutions.
Cost Management: Oversee costs from inception to completion, providing support on evaluations, procurement, and variations.
Reporting: Monitor and report monthly costs, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely updates to the Commercial Manager and Director.
Procurement: Manage sub-contractor procurement, presenting recommendations for approval.
Contract Administration: Administer main and sub-contracts, handling claims and variations while ensuring compliance.
Value Management: Minimize costs and enhance value, maintaining required standards and quality.
Cashflow Monitoring: Prepare and manage project cashflow, including cost monitoring and invoice reviews.
Client Applications: Prepare monthly payment applications, ensuring alignment with project progress and cash flow.
Sub-Contractor Management: Assess and fairly value sub-contractor payment applications in line with contracts and progress. Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
Ideally, a degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, though not essential.
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience, preferably within the residential M&E sector.
Strong ability to review technical drawings for variations, valuations, and take-offs.
Proven experience in commercial or residential project environments.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a professional attitude.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel. In Return:
