Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our clients Children's Services team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing complex cases, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the development and implementation of best practices within our service. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* Case Management: Oversee a caseload of complex and high-risk cases, ensuring that all actions are in the best interests of the child.
* Supervision & Support: Provide professional supervision, guidance, and support to social workers and other team members.
* Practice Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practice standards.
* Partnership Working: Collaborate with external agencies, including schools, health services, and the police, to ensure coordinated support for children and families.
* Training & Development: Identify training needs and contribute to the delivery of training programs for staff.
* Safeguarding: Lead on safeguarding issues, ensuring that all concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with legal and organizational requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
* Current registration with (relevant professional body, e.g., Social Work England.
* Significant experience in a senior role within children's services.
* Extensive experience in care proceedings
* Experience in MCA, BI and DOLs process for children
* Experience working with disabled children.
* enhanced DBS check
* Proven track record in managing complex cases and leading safeguarding practices.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
* Desirable:
* Postgraduate qualification in a related field.
* Experience in training and mentoring staff.
* Familiarity with specific systems/software used by the organization.
