The Opportunity

 

Within our Central Projects and Programmes function, we are looking to recruit a Portfolio Manager into our Fleet Programmes team and grow our delivery and support capability to our Nuclear fleet, both Generation and Nuclear Decommissioning assets.  You will have responsibility to build a new  team of Project Managers who will complete the initial assessment and FEED work to develop and initiate a new Fleet Programme in mitigation to an approved business or technical risk.

What you will be doing

 

Your principal accountabilities and responsibilities are: 

 

  • Project manage the initial lifecycle development and assessment of cross fleet portfolios emerging from the Operations medium term plan, Nuclear Decommission Annual Liability Review 2 requirements and “New Nuclear Projects” as part of our Strategy and Commercial Development. 
  • Develop a flexible Fleet Recovery Project Management capability which can be utilised to set up and project manage any future significant Event Recoveries. (Made up from within own EDF team members and Project Management Resource (PMR) staff)
  • Accountable to their Line Manager for the safe delivery of agreed cross fleet portfolios or programmes.
  • Has authority/accountability for expenditure up to the portfolio limits determined by sanctioned project funds and assigned budgets. Typical annual portfolio lifecycle budgets ranging from £10M to £50M.
  • Lead the delivery of project work on station and ensure a working interface with Station Management and other Station and Central teams whilst maintaining accountability and reporting standards with Enterprise Projects Controls (EPC) as required to by the Project Delivery Integrated Company Practice and Specifications.
  • Leads their Team’s safe delivery, development, training and performance. Is a champion of the One Project Delivery Community, driving continuous learning across the whole Project and Programmes portfolio. 

 

Who you are

 

As a minimum you will need to be Degree educated, ideally in Project Management, Engineering or equivalent professional qualification and hold a Chartered Project Professional or Chartered Engineer status. 

 

A formal Project Management background within a highly regulated environment is also essential, along with proven leadership skills and experience. You will need effective interpersonal and influencing skills to work with key stakeholders regarding project performance.
