Job Variety: No two days are the same, with a mix of cleaning, maintenance, and people-focused tasks. You’ll have a chance to work with different teams and have your day filled with variety. What You'll Be Doing: Keeping it clean: You’ll be responsible for daily cleaning tasks including damp dusting, high dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and changing beds, ensuring that every room is in top condition. Restocking supplies: You’ll make sure each room is stocked with essentials like toilet rolls and towels, and send laundry to be cleaned when necessary. Making repairs easy: If you spot something that needs fixing, you’ll report it to the line manager so we can take care of it right away. Assisting with furniture moves: You’ll help move furniture around while following health and safety guidelines, ensuring the space is always safe and ready for residents. Ensuring safety and security: You’ll be responsible for ensuring all fire doors are closed and rooms are locked after cleaning, keeping everyone safe and secure. Laundry & Equipment: From using the washing machines to counting dirty linen for collection, you’ll help keep everything in order. You’ll also ensure equipment is in good working condition, reporting any faults that need attention. Additional duties: You’ll also be involved in other tasks like window cleaning, checking light bulbs, picking up litter, and keeping corridors and kitchens in excellent condition. Team player: You’ll attend colleagues meetings, report any issues that come up, and work alongside the line manager to ensure everything is running smoothly. You’ll also be part of the out-of-hours support team and may be required to use the master key. Safety First: Wearing protective clothing and following health and safety procedures will be key to your role. Our ideal candidate... Experience: Previous experience in domestic cleaning or hospitality would be great. If you’re familiar with lifting and handling, that’s a bonus too Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of health and safety protocols and the ability to follow them will be important to keep everyone safe. Communication Skills: You’ll need to be a good communicator, able to interact respectfully with residents and colleagues alike. Keeping things confidential is key. Attention to Detail: From changing hoover bags to checking that light bulbs are working, you’ll need to pay attention to the little details that make a big difference. Time Management: Being a good timekeeper and managing your daily tasks effectively will help you stay on top of things. Disclosure and Barring Service: This role of requires the successful candidate to complete a basic DBS check. A basic DBS check will show any unspent convictions. So why do we need to know this information? This role will be required to visit / support PA Housing residents in their own homes on a regular basis. Therefore we have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing. Having unspent convictions will not necessarily preclude you from being recruited into the role; if you are potentially the successful candidate, we will complete a risk assessment with you to understand the circumstances around your conviction, how relevant they are to the post you have applied for and what remedial action , if any, have you have taken since your conviction.
