INDEPENDENT OFFICE FOR POLICE CONDUCT

The IOPC is the independent police complaints watchdog for England and Wales. We investigate the most serious complaints and conduct matters involving the police, and we set standards by which the police should handle complaints.

We are going through a period of change and transformation and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Transformation, for a fixed term period of 2 years, to lead our transformation programme.

The role:

  • You’ll lead on delivering our ambitious transformation programme to improve the complaints system to improve trust and confidence in policing.
  • You’ll provide strategic leadership to ensure that our new operating delivery model is embedded across the organisation so that we meet our statutory duties and deliver our ambitious strategic objectives.
  • You’ll be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders and staff so that the transformation, and reasons for it, are clearly understood.
  • You’ll be a member of our management board and will provide strategic direction and advice on transformation.
  • And so much more.

About You

You’ll be an experienced and confident transformation professional who has a strong track record of delivering change and transformation at pace and ensuring that our new ways of working are embedded. You’ll be proficient with change and transformation methodologies and how to translate these into simplified practices.

You will also have:

  • Experience of working at a senior level in a complex environment, managing multiple transformation projects with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of leading and delivering large scale transformational change and the ability to convey a compelling and engaging vision of change for staff.
  • Experience of translating strategy into delivery through plans, programmes, people, and culture.
  • Proven track record of strategically aligning financial resources with people resources, ICT, and other assets to achieve desired strategic outcomes.

You’ll be able to find full details of the role requirements in the job role profile via the IOPC website.
