Sales Apprentice

As a Sales Apprentice, you’ll work closely with our experienced Sales Team to support category growth, build strong customer relationships, and help achieve our sales and profitability targets. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Sales Growth: Assist in delivering annual budgetary targets for customer accounts and support the expansion of existing business.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, helping to tailor product ranges and promotions to meet their needs.
- Financial Management: Aid in managing and reducing customer aged/disputed debt to improve cash flow.
- Communication & Negotiation: Collaborate with internal teams and negotiate with customers to secure competitive pricing and profit levels.
- Project Support: Contribute to achieving deadlines for promotional materials and sales aids, and represent DCS at industry meetings, events, and seminars.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good commercial awareness and the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, self-motivated attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Training & Development:
- You’ll receive comprehensive training, including Health & Safety, Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and Data Protection standards.
- Benefit from mentorship by experienced Sales Managers and regular feedback sessions to support your growth.
- Opportunities to attend relevant industry seminars and workshops.
Career Progression:
- Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a Junior Sales Manager position, with opportunities for further advancement within the Sales Team.
Work Schedule:
- This is a full-time apprenticeship with standard working hours, offering some flexibility to accommodate study commitments.
