Position: Advanced Practitioner - Localities Team
Location: Wigan Council

About the Role:
Ackerman Pierce is seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Practitioner to join the Localities Team at Wigan Council. This role is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated social worker to provide high-quality support and guidance within a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advanced practice leadership and support to social workers within the Localities Team.
Manage a complex caseload, ensuring assessments, care plans, and interventions are completed to a high standard.
Conduct regular supervision and mentoring of social workers, including those undertaking ASYE.
Ensure effective multi-agency collaboration to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and families.
Lead on the development and implementation of best practice models within the team.
Chair meetings, including case conferences, strategy meetings, and multi-agency planning meetings.
Provide expert advice and guidance on complex cases and risk management.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's performance through audits, reflective practice, and training.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work or equivalent.
Registered with Social Work England.
Extensive experience in a children's social care setting.
Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide advanced practice leadership.
Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
