Overview
As a Senior Data Consultant, you will be instrumental in providing powerful insights that drive this mission for our client. You’ll be responsible for mining, cleaning, interpreting, and analysing data, ensuring that it reaches its full potential for impact and value creation. Your role will involve asking the right questions, making connections, and ultimately providing robust data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
Your work will culminate in creating compelling data visualizations and reports, enabling stakeholders at all levels to make informed, data-led decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with People Development colleagues and business stakeholders to understand key business challenges, developing innovative data approaches, and making fact-based recommendations for effective decision-making.
Explore Data Opportunities: Independently seek and develop new data sources, tools, and methodologies to explore the potential of data in solving business challenges. Continuously improve data usage and recommendations.
Lead Data Utilization: Champion the use of data in business decision-making, supporting strategic objectives, particularly in human performance, learning, and skills development.
Data Analysis and Modelling: Identify relevant data sources, build algorithms and models, and perform error analysis to clean and validate data. Look for trends and patterns to highlight problems, opportunities, and insights.
Innovative Testing: Use prototypes, proof of concepts, and A/B testing to validate theories, making informed recommendations to stakeholders.
Create Compelling Visuals: Develop clear and insightful data visualizations and reports that tell compelling stories, aiding business understanding and decision-making.
Demonstrate Impact: Showcase the ROI, value creation, or cost savings achieved through data insights.
Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely reporting of key learning and financial metrics, presenting data and associated narratives to Senior Leadership Teams and Governance Groups.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
Expertise in data mining, cleaning, interpretation, and analysis.
Experienced Power BI user with strong skills in data visualization and dashboard creation.
Proven experience in a consulting or advisory role, with the ability to extract relevant business issues from stakeholders and select appropriate data sources.
Proficiency in advanced Excel and programming languages such as SQL, Python, and Java.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
Creative and innovative in problem-solving, with a strong business acumen.
Desirable
Qualifications in statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
Strong database design and coding skills.
