We are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our innovation team as an Innovation Analyst. This role is critical in supporting the bank's efforts to drive innovation, leverage emerging technologies, and maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving financial services industry.


Purpose of the Job:

  • To provide support and assistance to the innovation team in their efforts to drive innovation and leverage emerging technologies within the bank, contributing to the organisation's competitive advantage and growth.
  • To serve as a bridge between technical and business teams, facilitating effective communication, knowledge sharing, and alignment of innovative solutions with business objectives. This involves translating technical concepts into clear business terms and ensuring that innovative initiatives align with the bank's strategic goals.
  • To foster an environment of continuous learning, collaboration, and knowledge dissemination, ensuring the bank stays abreast of cutting-edge technologies and industry trends, and can successfully adapt to evolving market dynamics.
  • To support the promotion and adoption of innovative solutions within the bank, assisting in the development of compelling content, presentations, and marketing materials that showcase the bank’s technological advancements and innovative projects.


Background

The Innovation Analyst role sits within the Innovation Team, which is part of Architecture & Engineering Group and serves as an internal incubator for the bank's most strategic initiatives.

This role is responsible for supporting the bank's strategic initiatives to foster innovation, adopt emerging technologies, and enhance its competitive position in the financial services industry.

The Innovation Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that the bank stays ahead of the curve by embracing cutting-edge solutions and leveraging the latest technological advancements.


The Innovation Analyst works closely with various internal and external stakeholders such as:

  • The Innovation Team: Providing support in research, analysis, and project management related to innovative initiatives.
  • The Communications Team: Assisting in developing and executing strategies to promote the bank's technological advancements and innovative projects.
  • The IT Department: Facilitating communication and alignment between business requirements and technical implementations, particularly in the areas of AI, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Product Managers: Gathering and documenting business requirements for innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Project Managers: Contributing to project support tasks, documentation, and progress tracking for innovation-related projects.
  • Technology Partners and Vendors: Staying informed about the latest industry trends, solutions, and best practices related to emerging technologies.


By fostering strong working relationships and facilitating continuous collaboration, the Innovation Analyst plays a critical role in driving the bank's innovation agenda and supporting its digital transformation journey.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on emerging technologies, industry trends, and disruptive innovations
  • Communication and Promotion Support: Collaborate with the communications team -- to develop content, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Intranet and Knowledge Management: Manage and maintain internal SharePoint intranet sites -- to facilitate effective knowledge sharing and collaboration across the bank.
  • Business Requirements Gathering: Support the innovation team in gathering and documenting business requirements for innovative technical solutions.
  • Project Support and Administration: Provide administrative support to the innovation team -- by coordinating meetings, managing schedules, and contributing to task tracking, documentation, and progress reporting.
  • Continuous Learning and Collaboration: Foster an environment of continuous learning and collaboration -- by actively participating in knowledge-sharing platforms, events, and forums.


Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications


Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, automation, blockchain, and cloud computing.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of content management systems, SharePoint, and knowledge management practices would be an advantage.

Skills:

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to comprehend technical concepts at a basic level.
  • Ability to communicate technical information in clear and understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to create well-structured presentations and basic marketing materials.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in an innovation/business analyst, project support, or similar role, preferably in the financial services or technology sector.
  • Experience in conducting research and analysis, particularly related to emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining intranet sites or knowledge management systems (e.g., SharePoint) is desirable.
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration and working with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications or coursework related to project management, business analysis, or specific technologies (e.g., AI, automation) would be an advantage.
