Hatched Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Youth Justice Officer in the Enfield area. Ideal for those who are looking for a long term contract.
The role will be responsible for holding a mixed case load of statutory orders, undertaking assessments, implementing highly effective strengths-based interventions and safety plans. The post holder will provide effective supervision for young people on all orders, ensuring young people are supported and supervised in line with the YJB national standards. The role will ensure that children within youth justice system are treated as children, promoting their welfare and safety whilst also ensuring that victims and general public are safeguarded.
Undertake all duties in relation to Safeguarding young people and managing risk to the community. The candidate will:
* Write PSR, Referral Order and Breach reports
* Have good analytical skills in order to carry out high quality assessments using Assetplus;
* Have a comprehensive understanding of Risk and risk management
* Make referrals and deliver high level interventions using sequencing methods to reduce the risk of further offending, whilst managing risk of harm to themselves and others
Accountabilities
1. To hold and be responsible for a mixed caseload, supervising and supporting offending young people within community on all orders as well as in custody settings.
2. To undertake assessments to a high-quality standard, develop personalised and highly effective intervention plans in response to assessed needs/risks of the young person.
3. Prepare high quality Pre-Sentence reports for Magistrates and Crown Courts and reports for Referral Order Panels.
4. To undertake timely home visits and visits in secure establishments to assess, support and safeguard young people.
5. Deliver and coordinate one to one, group work interventions in line with the YJS intervention framework. Broker referrals to specialist interventions/ support. Provide support and interventions within the YJS office, community/home settings, custody or virtually. Ensure that all interventions provided to young people are evidence based, personalised and impactful
