KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

The applicant should have experience in leading Pre-FEED and FEED projects and having worked as a principal engineer on a Detail Design project. You will be working independently or leading a team of designers and engineers to execute the piping scope. The applicant will work on both traditional and energy transition projects. The applicant should be from a layout background and be able to produce front end deliverables.

The position is based in KBRs Leatherhead Campus. Flexible working can be discussed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to projects.
  • Lead pre-FEED and FEED projects and ensure the scope is understood by others and monitored.
  • Responsible for the overall direction of the piping design activities with a large project or several small projects.
  • Direct the activities of Piping Design and Piping Mechanical team.
  • Facilitate effective Piping Engineering interface with the project team and the client.
  • Capable of producing necessary documents associated with proposals and present concepts to prospective clients.
  • Preparation of project execution plans, input to project schedules and coordination of the piping team on a FEED project.
  • Capable of representing the piping discipline to the client.
  • Supporting and producing deliverables to meet client and company expectations of quality.
  • Adhere to KBR WAY engineering standards and procedures as well as provide input to their development and enhancement.
  • Committed to multi-centre working.
  • Provide technical guidance as required to the Piping team.

Skills / Experience:

  • Experience of leading Piping Design and Piping Mechanical team from concept through to FEED.
  • Developing plant layouts from concept.
  • Fully converse with 2D CAD applications including AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Able to use PDMS or E3D.
  • Significant onshore and offshore layout experience.
  • Developing presentations and experience communicating with client team.
  • Experience of working on conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED and/or EPC projects.
  • Self-motivated and good communication skills to enable effective team working.
  • Committed to exploring new methods of working and be keen to support KBRs digitalization initiatives.
  • Some knowledge of piping stress to ensure consideration during design development.
  • Experience of managing small multi-centre engineering teams.
  • Engineering support to construction or commissioning.
  • Experience building relationships with clients.

Qualifications :

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (BEng).
