Once completed, it will supply reliable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting the UK's journey toward Net Zero by 2050 alongside renewable energy sources.


What's involved?

The role involves supporting risk management within the programme (or similar), ensuring compliance with the risk management framework, and proactively helping safeguard the programme from significant overruns.


Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing Programme Risk Registers.
  • Leading the identification and creation of risk mitigation and action plans within the Programme Risk Registers.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the Risk Management Strategy/Plan.
  • Conducting both Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) on the Integrated Works Schedule and advising Programme Directors on key risk areas to facilitate mitigation actions.
  • Organising and facilitating workshops with large groups of Project Managers to ensure all risks are captured.
  • Collaborating with other Risk Managers to prevent duplication of risks across other programmes.
  • Developing and facilitating risk workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
  • Managing specialist Risk Management Software.
  • Working with project teams and programme leadership to identify new and emerging risks, and updating current risks.
  • Producing accurate and timely periodic risk update reports for programme management.
  • Managing and maintaining the project's risk registers through the risk database.
  • Identifying risks that may require higher-level management for escalation or resolution.
  • Promoting and embedding a risk management culture by conducting training and offering guidance to improve competency across the PMO & Programmes.
  • Collaborating with other Project Controls teams to align schedule and financial risks and ensure best practice alignment.
  • Recommending and implementing continuous process improvements as necessary.
  • Ensuring the quality and suitability of Cost & Schedule models for QSRA and QCRA.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Strong facilitation skills, able to independently lead workshops within the programme.
  • Strong technical skills, capable of independently delivering QRAs, covering Cost QRAs and Schedule QRAs.
  • Ability to integrate and support a broad range of project controls, project delivery, and business support processes (e.g., Finance).
  • Excellent engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of professionals from both project and corporate teams.
