This role requires managing the project from inception to client acceptance, ensuring adherence to specifications, timelines, and budgets. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate contractual changes to clients and management, resolve contract-related issues, and collaborate with various business support functions, including customer care. A solid understanding of fundamental engineering practices is essential to ensure projects align with best engineering standards.
Main Responsibilities of the Senior Contracts / Project Manager:
* Client and Supplier Relations:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
* Serve as the single point of contact for all contractual matters.
* Contract Management:
* Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute contracts.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all contract-related correspondence and documentation.
* Manage contract close-out, extensions, or renewals as needed.
* Ensure contracts are delivered on time and within budget.
* Communicate contract-related information during meetings.
* Report any issues affecting the company's reputation or financial health to the Directors immediately.
* Health & Safety:
* Foster a strong Health and Safety culture.
* Complete and maintain onsite safety hazard assessments (POWRA).
* Participate in safety and incident investigations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Experience:
* Approximately 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in contract management.
* Proven ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of specialist subcontract trades.
* Full UK driving licence
* Commitment to customer service and ability to work as part of a team
* Demonstrate excellent technical skills
