Key Responsibilities:
Dismantle a range of industrial gearboxes, pumps and compressors and produce concise, accurate reports for management.
Assemble gearboxes with precision, ensuring they are installation-ready.
Conduct detailed inspections, identifying operational issues and providing solutions.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical documentation, and computer-generated programs.
Ensure adherence to quality, health & safety, and environmental standards in the workshop.
Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work, working with minimal supervision.
Be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and troubleshooting issues.
Respond to emergency situations as needed.
Follow standard work practices and procedures.
Perform additional duties as required to support the success of the team.
Skills & Experience Required for the industrial Mechanical Fitter role:
Qualifications: Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field, or adequate hands-on experience.
Experience: Working knowledge of various types of gearboxes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering data and drawings.
Skilled in selecting and using measuring and testing equipment to ensure components meet required quality standards.
Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair issues efficiently.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
