The charity support people who are experiencing Domestic Abuse.
This is a challenging but very rewarding role , working alongside a group of people totally committed to improving peoples lives through support.
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Assisting the HO Programmes in the delivery of agreed therapeutic programmes and activities that meet the identified needs of our service users including children and young people; offering practical support to enable and empower service users to carry out their day-to-day activities.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS:
The role holder will be required to work 37 hours per week flexibly over 5 days. Some unsocial/out of hours/evening work will be required, including the provision of On Call Buddy support to the out of hours team on a rota basis.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST:
To provide support that enables women and children who are survivors of domestic abuse to lead full, satisfying and independent lives, facilitating development and rehabilitation of service users who may have mental and emotional issues, learning difficulties and physical disabilities by delivering specific needs-led, trauma-informed interventions.

Key Skills: Essential
Therapeutic qualification – i.e. BACP Counsellor, Coach, Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapy, Behavioural Sciences to degree or equivalent level.
Knowledge and understanding of the principles of a trauma-informed approach.
Experience of collaborating with people with a wide range of support needs including trauma.
Demonstrable experience of working with people who have complex trauma, which may include high mental health and/or substance misuse issues as well as domestic abuse.
Experience of delivering high quality outreach services to people with a wide range of needs and risks.
Knowledge of Domestic Abuse and the ability to provide a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach that offers protection and reduces risk.
Ability to liaise and collaborate closely with external professionals to inform and develop Service Users support.
Ability to travel effectively throughout the county of Northamptonshire and beyond if required.
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
Co-ordination of Wellbeing Team.
Support Wellbeing team in their delivery of services and programmes.
Support Wellbeing team to offer an excellent level of service through liaison with the HO Programmes, the wider Leadership Team, and other staff.
Provide Non-Managerial Supervision for Wellbeing team in accordance with the charity's Supervision Policy.
Ensure that Wellbeing team attend and use clinical and other external non-managerial supervision where this is provided to ensure sound practice of specific therapeutic working models.
Support HO Programmes and others in Leadership Team in delivery of induction programme for new staff.
Co-ordinate a team of staff and volunteers to develop, prepare, review, evaluate, facilitate and deliver specialist intervention and activity programmes including various therapeutic group and 1:1 interventions for service users who are survivors of domestic violence and abuse.
Co-ordinate, support and supervise student placements, liaising with local educational establishments, managers and colleagues to embed student support in relevant programmes.
Work with Service Users.
Establish and maintain effective trauma-informed, strengths-based relationships – enabling needs-led, holistic practice that meets with the six principles of providing a trauma-informed approach.
Manage a caseload, prioritising needs, and completing administrative tasks such as service user records, writing reports, conducting agreed research, maintaining records and case notes.
Co-ordinate development of individual activity programmes to help rebuild lost skills and restore confidence.
Enable and empower service users to re-establish what is important to them and develop effective coping strategies, helping them to perform roles which they deem important e.g. mother, learner, volunteer, employee, survivor, using a variety of techniques such as facilitating, coaching and mentoring.
Signpost to external services and/or advocate on behalf of service users to enable them to access other services e.g. community occupational Wellbeing, school SENCo.
Provide peripatetic services in other locations across Northamptonshire as and when required.
Assist in planning and delivery of residential mealtimes, parties, outings, day trips and holidays where appropriate.
Provide a service that upholds the best safeguarding practice in relation to children and adults at risk.
Develop a close network of communication, information sharing, co-operation, joint work and skills exchange with other practitioners in the team, the organisation, statutory bodies and voluntary agencies in the wider community, having due regard to confidentiality, safeguarding and information sharing protocols.
Policies and Procedures.
Support the development and review of policies and procedures by creating clear expectations and providing pathways for two-way communication, discipline and a safe, positive environment.
Support HO Programmes in Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and Risk Assessment and Management; ensuring an excellent level of response to safeguarding and other safety risks and needs, supporting HO Programmes in helping the Wellbeing team to manage all safeguarding work.
Administration.
Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to the work.
Use monitoring and case management systems and keep appropriate casework and administrative records.
Attend and provide information for multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review ongoing support for service users on caseload; giving information as appropriate and required.
Miscellaneous.
Assist in the daily running and security of the service.
Attend and contribute regularly to team development days, staff meetings, supervision and other team events.
Provide On Call Buddy back up on a Rota Basis. Supporting the out of hours management team with refuge issues where on call staff need backup, including attending the refuge and dealing with issues appropriate to your level of expertise and training when required.
Cover staff holidays and sickness where required.
Undertake further training opportunities as appropriate.
To undertake other tasks within the context of the post that are reasonably required by Management and/or Trustees.
