About this client/child:
Sameena, an engaging, happy, cheerful, and sociable 17 years old young lady, living at home with her Mum, Dad and two sisters. This is a loving, supportive, and close-knit family who enjoy spending quality time together. Sameena enjoys a range of hobbies such as dancing, listening to music, shopping, socialising with her peers in college, and likes to play games on her iPad and laptop. Sameena has cerebral palsy and a learning disability. She uses her iPad to support her verbal communication and uses a wheelchair when out and about. She strives for her independence and is a capable young lady, who knows her own mind and likes to make her own decisions. A small, dedicated care team is in place to support Sameena, and we are currently recruiting a part-time SEN Support Worker / PA to join.
Overview of role:
The SEN Support Worker / PA will assist Sameena in all areas of her ADLs, daily routine and support with her personal care needs. A typical morning will be supporting Sameena to get ready for college and accompany her in organised transport. An afternoon might include implementing therapy programmes such as physiotherapy, or taking Sameena to activities such as dance class or the youth club etc. At times Sameena might just want to spend time chilling out and relaxing after a busy day in college. You will be working as part of a small team; the rota is organised well in advance, and you can discuss your availability and preferred working days. Shifts available are Monday to Friday 7.00am to 9.00am and 3.00pm to 8.00pm or 9.00pm. Saturdays 10.00am to 8.00pm.

A positive, friendly, kind, and energetic *female SEN Support Worker / PA with a real passion for working with young adults and promoting and maximising their independence. You will be intuitive and creative and enjoy working 1:1 in a family setting / environment. Non-smoker/Vapers only.
